What We Offer

Intrusion detection systems protect buildings, assets and occupants by detecting unauthorised entry and raising alarms. ASDV Consultant provides professional intrusion alarm system design for commercial offices, retail stores, banks, warehouses, data centres, residential compounds and industrial facilities.

Our designs specify the correct detector types for each area — passive infrared (PIR), dual-technology (PIR + microwave), glass-break, vibration/seismic, magnetic door contacts, active infrared beams and PIR curtain detectors — selected to minimise false alarms while ensuring reliable detection of genuine intrusion attempts.

We design to EN 50131 Grade 2 (home/SME), Grade 3 (commercial/banking) and Grade 4 (high-risk/critical infrastructure) standards, with alarm receiving centre (ARC) communication, hold-up alarm integration and coordination with CCTV, access control and BMS systems.

Our Design Process

Risk Assessment Review

Review site security risk level, asset value, building type and applicable grade requirement (EN 50131 Grade 2/3/4).

Zone & Detection Strategy

Define alarm zones aligned with security areas, entry/exit routes and detector types for each zone.

Detector Placement Design

Position detectors to cover all intrusion paths with overlapping coverage, considering furniture layouts and environmental conditions.

Panel & Communication Design

Specify alarm panel grade, zone count, communicator type, ARC protocol and backup battery sizing.

Integration Design

Design interfaces with CCTV (alarm-to-camera), access control (zone locking) and BMS.

BOQ & Specifications

Produce itemised BOQ and technical specifications for tendering.

Frequently Asked Questions

Commercial intrusion systems typically use: PIR (Passive Infrared) detectors for indoor motion detection, dual-technology detectors (PIR + microwave) for high-security areas to reduce false alarms, glass-break detectors (acoustic) to detect breaking glass, magnetic contacts on all opening doors and windows, active infrared beams for perimeter protection, and vibration sensors for walls, safes and ATMs.

EN 50131 is the European standard for intruder alarm systems, defining four grades of increasing security. Grade 3 (Medium to High Risk) is specified for commercial premises, banks, petrol stations and other businesses with moderate theft risk. It requires more robust tamper protection, anti-masking on detectors, secure communication to the alarm receiving centre, and specific power supply and backup battery requirements.

Intrusion alarm relay outputs (Zone In Alarm) can trigger CCTV cameras to: start recording (if not continuously recording), PTZ cameras to pan/tilt to pre-set positions covering the alarm zone, activate a popup alert on the CCTV monitoring workstation, and send email/SMS with a camera snapshot. This combination of intrusion detection and video verification significantly reduces false alarm response costs.
